Not every lacrosse experience needs to be a year-round commitment, a packed practice schedule, or a high-pressure pursuit of the next level. Sometimes, it's just about bringing a great group of boys together, picking up their sticks, competing in tournaments, and having a blast. That's the idea behind Evolve Tournament Lacrosse.

 

We're bringing together players who love the game, enjoy competing, and want to play more lacrosse without all the extras that typically come with traditional club programs. We'll play tournaments, mix in some practices and pickup games, and create opportunities for the boys to compete, develop, and enjoy being part of a team. Less structure. More freedom. Same love for the game.

 

Our Philosophy

Serious About Competing. Not About Ourselves.

 

We believe players develop best when they're challenged, engaged, and having fun. Our approach emphasizes three things: Effort. Attitude. Toughness. We expect players to compete hard, support their teammates, embrace challenges, and take responsibility for how they show up. But we also believe lacrosse should be fun. Players should feel comfortable trying something new, making mistakes, taking risks, and figuring things out on the field. We're not interested in coaching every decision from the sideline or turning every mistake into a teaching moment. We want players who think for themselves, play creatively, and develop the confidence to make decisions under pressure. We'll coach them, challenge them, and hold them accountable. But we'll also let them play.

 

What to Expect

Tournaments, Not a Full-Time Schedule

 

We'll identify a handful of tournaments throughout the year and put together a team based on player interest and availability. The goal is to create great competitive experiences without asking families to commit to an entire club season.

 

Practices & Pickup Games

We'll get together when it makes sense. Some organized practices, some pickup lacrosse, and plenty of opportunities to play. When we practice, we'll focus on small-sided games, lots of touches, decision-making, and competitive situations. No standing in lines waiting for reps.

 

A Team Players Want to Be Part Of

We want a positive, relaxed team environment where players enjoy their teammates, support one another, and look forward to showing up. Good energy, good attitudes, and plenty of laughs.

 

Development Without the Pressure

Winning is fun, and we'll absolutely compete to win. But we won't measure our success solely by the scoreboard. We'll focus on how we compete, how we respond to adversity, and whether we're becoming better players and teammates along the way.

• Travel expenses if the tournament is out of state (most tournaments will be in the Salt Lake area)

Youth sports have become increasingly structured, expensive, and outcome-focused. We want to offer something a little different. A place where players can compete without feeling like every game is an audition. Where mistakes are part of learning. Where creativity is encouraged. Where coaches guide rather than control. We'll provide the environment, the coaching, and the opportunities. The boys bring the energy, effort, and fun. At the end of the day, we want players walking off the field tired, smiling, and already looking forward to the next time they get to play.

 

Interested in Playing?

Currently, we're putting together a group of 7th- and 8th-grade boys interested in playing tournament lacrosse with Evolve. Tournament dates, locations, and costs will be shared as opportunities are finalized. Participation will be based on interest, availability, and roster needs. No year-round commitment.
